Music and sports are not important as other academic subjects…is that true?

In modern society with fierce competition, students and parents are starting to ignore the importance of education about music and sports, which are considered second – order subjects. I have a strong opinion about this issue which will be made considerably clear in the later paragraphs of this article.

As per my point of view, I feel that teenage is a crucial period for a boy or girl’s growth, as a consequence, after a long day of studies, they should do sports to relax and to release pressure. If they only knew that sitting on their seat in the classroom and neglecting themselves without practising any sports, finally they would spoil their bodies very easily.

Moreover, learning music in schools is a very useful activity because it promotes the student’s mental and emotional development. Everyone knows, in fact, how listening to music can represent a way of escaping from troubles and stress.

In addition, some students who are particularly sensitive and have a tender psychology cannot stand much pressure. My intention to say this is that if there were not sports, music and activities like those , these kinds of adolescents could risk have terrible psychological reactions.

To conclude, schools should regard the education of sports and music as important as other subjects and they should make them be studied better and better. Also, students need to do more extra – curricular activities , which could be beneficial for them, making them versatile and contributing to their welfare.

Sometimes disabled people are not catered for adequately

It is implausible but true that in many countries disabled people are not cared for adequately. In other words, they are not provided with the proper facilities and they have to depend on others to get their routine work done. Although a disabled person can discuss the matter more efficiently , I too have a strong opinion about the issue which will be made considerably clear in the later paragraphs of this article.

As per my point of view, I feel that though there are lots of facilities granted to physically disabled people by government : for example, reduction in travelling fares, yet just providing such kind of facilities will not serve the whole purpose to cater disabled people. Still, there is lot more which is required to be done: such as, special arrangements should be made with no extra charges in airport, railway stations etc. ; to make the journey of handicapped persons almost free. Also, official and residential buildings should be designed by keeping disabled people in mind.

Furthermore, it is imperative too to say the real difficulties faced by physically challenged people by directly interacting with them. My intention to say this is that only a disabled person is able to express problems suffered by him or her in a better way. And then this information collected should be implemented to our system.

After pondering over a great deal of thoughts and deliberations with myself about the topic, I come to a conclusion that disabled people do not need our sympathy, and it is duty of each individual to give them more moral support. Also, disabled persons have to make the attitude of “Never say die”, which will in turn make our planet more healthier.

The best time to learn a new language?

Nowadays, learning new languages is not only vital but also a necessity. Many people sustain that the best learners are children, while others claim that the capability of adults is more suitable for learning. In this article the arguments both for and against this topic will be examined.

There is no question in my mind that when a person is a child his/her mind is like a parachute open to everything which is seen, read and written. As regards this aspect, it has been proven by National Language Society that a child has an ability to learn five languages at the same time. As a consequence, it can only be imagined the amount of information his brain would have.

Conveniently, I would like to share my own experience, I’m currently studying for taking the IELTS exam. Even though English is not my mother tongue, I’ve been learning it since I was a child, at elementary and high schools. On the contrary, my mother who is also studying English, can see how difficult it is for an adult to learn something new.

On the other hand, adults can often boast a major responsibility than the young. Moreover, their speed of learning depends on their childhood : if they were not taught to keep an open-mind, then the mind would act like a resistance to the flow of electricity.

To conclude, it has long been my belief that the best time to learn, not only languages but also any other subject is during childhood, when the brain is more lucid than later.

Only people who earn a lot of money are successful?

Money is certainly something that is often debated ; some believe that only rich people can reach success, others sustain that there are other considerations such as health and happiness which are more important than earning a lot of money. Strong arguments have always existed on both sides of this issue so that it is worth testing both point of views before reaching conclusions.

Firstly, it is quite common to see that having too much money has enabled people to exert influence on others. For instance, in most developed countries, like the USA and Japan, the rich are often respected in their highest position and directly influence the whole society. From that, money can be seen as the most important factor in daily life. Moreover, money can often help people to survive on the boundary between death and life. Today, in fact , in many developing nations, people can be deprived of nutrition and health care system.

However, as per my point of view, I feel strongly that economic success does not completely influence personal happiness , which depends on other factors, such as health and serenity. There is no question in my mind that success is a personal issue and that it can be achieved thanks to a wonderful love-story, a realized dream, the creation of a family, a good career, or due to the combination of some of these factors or of many others. Everyone knows, for instance, the stories of many successful men or women who killed themselves because they were unhappy, like the famous writer Virginia Woolf.

All these things considered, it can be concluded that money plays an important role next to personal life and experience. All these factors should be balanced to make one's own life happier.

Football players paid too much....no, that’s why…

Nowadays, sports player are overpaid in comparison with workers like nurses, doctors or teachers who are considered more useful to society. In this article , this topic will be examined in more detail.

Sport is undoubtedly one of the main forms of entertainment today, many people believe that money which sports stars earn is excessive. They sustain that it does not justify such large salaries, especially because there is too much disparity with employees which have a fundamental role in the community.

In my view, the most discussed sport, which is football, is actually quite meritocratic despite the ludicrous high rewards. I suppose that one reason why soccer stars make so much money is that they earn fortunes from their teams in merchandizing. For instance, larger football clubs benefit financially from TV revenue.

Obviously, agreeing to this kind of consideration is very difficult for those who work hard, for example in a mine or on a farm but these situations belong to the modern world and , above all, to the business one. However, the greed of most top players has often represented an abuse. They continue to ask for larger and larger salaries and are never satisfied.

In conclusion, the differences between an activity and another is also based on all those factors which sorround them. As a final consideration, football involves the presence of sponsors which brings a large amount of money to the clubs and to the players, that other types of jobs do not include.

Computer or Teacher?

There is no doubt that education and the learning process have changed since the introduction of computers. In this article this issue and the teacher’s future role in schools will be examined.

First of all, the search of information has become easier and more amusing than previously . However, although expert systems have made computers more intelligent , they have not yet replaced human interaction in the learning process. In my opinion, what can be expected is a change of teacher’s role but not their disappearance from the classroom.

Nobody can argue that the acquisition of knowledge is more fun and easier with pcs. The activity of touching and exploring this device constitutes an enjoyable task for a kid. This, accompanied with the relaxing attitude and software interactivity, usually leads to a better grasping of new knowledge.
At a higher education level, the availability of digital books and other academic materials, provide the student with an accessible source of information, that otherwise would not be hand.

On the other hand, besides the increasing complexity of intelligent software, the need of human interaction in the learning process will always be present, at least in the foreseeable future . There is the necessity for a person to be able to determine what the specific needs of each student are. The expertise of a teacher can hardly be mimicked by a computer, no matter how sophisticated its software is.

Teachers should be open-minded to the changes that are taking place, keep updated, solving students’ problems, thus allowing them to discover the facts from themselves.

To summarize, in my personal view, teachers play and will play an important role in the classrooms, especially at primary school. No matter how complex computers become, there will be no replacement for human interaction, but in the way how this interaction takes place.
