Only people who earn a lot of money are successful?

Money is certainly something that is often debated ; some believe that only rich people can reach success, others sustain that there are other considerations such as health and happiness which are more important than earning a lot of money. Strong arguments have always existed on both sides of this issue so that it is worth testing both point of views before reaching conclusions.

Firstly, it is quite common to see that having too much money has enabled people to exert influence on others. For instance, in most developed countries, like the USA and Japan, the rich are often respected in their highest position and directly influence the whole society. From that, money can be seen as the most important factor in daily life. Moreover, money can often help people to survive on the boundary between death and life. Today, in fact , in many developing nations, people can be deprived of nutrition and health care system.

However, as per my point of view, I feel strongly that economic success does not completely influence personal happiness , which depends on other factors, such as health and serenity. There is no question in my mind that success is a personal issue and that it can be achieved thanks to a wonderful love-story, a realized dream, the creation of a family, a good career, or due to the combination of some of these factors or of many others. Everyone knows, for instance, the stories of many successful men or women who killed themselves because they were unhappy, like the famous writer Virginia Woolf.

All these things considered, it can be concluded that money plays an important role next to personal life and experience. All these factors should be balanced to make one's own life happier.
